We operate a modern Rigid Hulled Inflatable Boat. The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and the Oil Industry use similar vessels. Our boat has been purpose built and specifically adapted for marine eco tours.

The vessel has a single 300hp main engine and an 18hp back up and operates to the new Maritime and Coastguard Agencies ‘Harmonised’ Code of practice. She is fitted with full safety equipment including life raft, flares, VHF radio and electronic navigation system.

The boat seats 12 passengers and the seats can accomodate 2 adults or a parent and child.

We supply every passenger with waterproof clothing. In the interest of your personal safety, we insist you wear your lifejacket at all times. Our vessel always operates with a fully qualified and commercially endorsed skipper.

FAQ

We get asked many questions. Below are a few comments you may find useful. .

Our guidance includes:

AGE AND ABILITY

We are happy to carry anyone who is 4 and over at any time we consider it safe to operate. Under 4’s are carried at the skipper’s discretion depending on weather and sea conditions. Persons with disabilities must have independent sitting balance.

We are happy to assist with boarding. All our skippers and crew are fully qualified to MCA (Maritime Coastguard Agency) standard and hold First Aid qualifications. They are more than happy to offer advice. Persons who suffer from chronic back complaints or who are pregnant are advised that these trips may be unsuitable in certain sea conditions.

We request you inform us of any potential problems at the time of booking.

PERSONAL CLOTHING

Lifejackets are to be worn at all times whilst at sea. We supply a full set of quality waterproof clothes. You will need to bring plenty of warm clothes to wear under the waterproofs.

It is always colder at sea than you think so don’t be afraid to add an extra layer. You may require hats, gloves, sunglasses and sun cream all on the same trip. Bring plenty - our crew are happy to advise.

Please wear sensible footwear for our boat trips - trainers, wellies and boots are fine (no high heels please).

EQUIPMENT

Bring cameras, binoculars, sweets, water etc. We suggest you wrap them in a polythene bag then put them in your pocket or bring a small rucksack to hang on the back of a seat. We do have a limited number of binoculars which you should feel free to use. Please note all equipment is carried at your own risk.
